“The key purpose of the IAC is to invite direct contribution from every staff member, including frontline team members, to develop innovative ideas. With the support and contributions of its collaborators and partners, Wilson aims to become the innovation leader within the security sector and one of Asia Pacific’s premier transformation and enabling organisations. Since the launch of the IAC in 2020, we have trialled multiple concepts. These innovations have the potential to deliver enhanced security solutions for the customers and communities in which we operate.”

Nick Frangoulis, CEO, Wilson Security

Wilson Security, established in Australia in 1999 as part of the Wilson Group, operates as a stand-alone security business. Services include guarding, mobile patrols, alarm response, access control, concierge / customer service, armed guarding, cash in transit, risk management, technology, incident response and CCTV monitoring. Services are provided Australia-wide by approximately 6,500 staff. Service coverage is designed to suit a client’s environment and security need, with staff trained and qualified to suit specialist duties.

Wilson Security’s purpose, mission and vision statements are centred around protecting and supporting its staff, customers and the communities in which it operates – and sacrosanct to this is a commitment to ensure Wilson Security are an organisation of choice, a preferred collaboration partner and a trusted advisor, always. Key to ensuring Wilson delivers on each of its values and commitments and solidify itself as a true leader in the security sector across the region is by remaining flexible to meet the ever-changing demands of the markets it serves.

Wilson Security management recognised a need to establish a dedicated and structured team of passionate individuals to focus on identifying and harnessing new and emerging knowledge and tools to equip Wilson’s people with the skills and advice to explore innovative ideas – and make informed, considered decisions on them.

It is with this in mind that the concept of the Wilson Security Innovation Advisory Council (IAC) was conceived – a central body that would oversee the company’s innovation framework and ensure regular flow of innovation concepts that ensured Wilson placed itself in the best possible position to meet the needs of its customers now and into the future.

The IAC strives to strengthen the customer first ethos and market focus throughout the Wilson business; it invites direct contribution from each and every Wilson staff member nationally, and aims to engage with collaborative partners with a global outlook to deliver national benefits, and ultimately translate its work into breakthrough innovation for international value.

The IAC is chaired by Narelle Cirillo, National Manager Operational Innovation, and its members are inclusive of representatives from each business line in both a senior leadership and frontline capacity. The purpose of the Innovation Advisory Council (IAC) is to act as the sounding board, moderator and maintainer of advice to the board to maximise the effectiveness of its programs, the appropriateness of its pathways and on how to achieve its goal, as well assisting the business on broader strategic issues relevant to the sectors in which the business operates. The IAC receives, reviews and tests innovative ideas to ultimately develop solutions and partnerships that improve the way in which Wilson Security operates both in terms of its employees and customers.
